Dr David Tawfik is a forensic engineer expert who has been retained by legal firms, government agencies, financiers, and insurers to investigate contentious matters in complex dispute resolution which pertain to engineering failures, industrial, cobstruction material failure, accidents and malperformance of engineering assets. Dr Tawfik has also acted as a Court Referee for the Federal Court of Australia for a complex multi-disciplinary construction dispute. David’s expertise include engineering failure analysis, forensic engineering, material failure, mechanical failure, welding, metallurgy, risk based inspections, corrosion control, stainless steels, damage assessments, structural steel, protective coatings, corrosion resistant alloys, root cause analysis, failure modes and effect analysis, thermal-stress analysis, corrosion, non-destructive examination. David has presented expert evidence for litigation hearings. David is an expert witness panel member for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Dispute Resolution Service), member of Engineers Australia, National Committee of Applied Mechanics and Welding Technology Institute of Australia.
